Log Home
The log home or lodge’s quiet seclusion sets the mood for an enchanting
getaway. The vintage Log home/Lodge is fully stocked with all the amenities of
a comfortable home, yet you are far away from the turmoil of home and/or the
city. The first floor has solid oak flooring; a bedroom with large closets, a
combined kitchen, breakfast room and living room with a large satellite TV,
books, videos and more. The bathroom has a two plus person Jacuzzi as well
as a shower and double vanity. There is also a three season porch featuring
Karaoke for the crooners of your party.
Walking up the log stairs to second floor, you discover a loft that has four single
beds, dressers, music and a view.
Downstairs there are more sleeping quarters and activities, the walk-out
basement floor has ceramic tile floors, natural wood walls, another bedroom,
another large bathroom with a shower, a hide-a-bed and a recreation area
with a pool table and wood card table with many board games available for use.
There is a large bonfire area to the north of the
Log Home for relaxation and enjoyment. Satellite
TV is available on the first floor and the basement.

Pine Cottage
The Pine Cottage is the first building one sees after entering the Burkhaven
property. The upstairs features a bedroom, ¾ Flamingo bath, and a dormer
which can sleep an additional six people. It also has a massage chair just
outside of the bedroom and an easy chair in the bedroom.
The first floor has a fitness room which is available for use only by reservation,
but must be attended by Burkhaven staff. We will do our best to meet any
reasonable schedule that you or your group may desire. Both the upstairs and
fitness room have Direct TV.
There is a small bonfire ring and horseshoe pits just
to the east of the Pine Cottage.

Cowboy Cabin
Burkhaven has two driveways. The driveways connect at the top of the first hill
and again at the Log Home toward the back of the property. The northern one
runs right by the Cowboy Cabin and the screened in porch that is connected to
it by a patio walkway.
Cowboy Tex and his friends welcome you to this more rustic area. It is smaller
than the Log Home or the Pine Cottage, but many of our guests believe it is the
best of all. It has been recently refurbished with a new roof, ceiling, flooring,
fireplace, and more. It is decorated in Texas style. The screened in porch is a
great place for happy hour or just watching the scenery. For many of our
weddings, the groom’s group uses it for their preparation headquarters before
taking the plunge.
It has a TV, but not satellite and sleeps two in the bedroom, one or two on a
hide-a-bed, and 2-3 more wranglers in the loft. Yes, we’ve even had people
sleep out on the screened in porch.

Lake Home
The lake home and the landscaping around it was completed in 2006 with the
purpose of allowing Burkhaven to host wedding and large parties (such as
family reunions, company picnics/parties, and other celebrations. Therefore, it
does not have any lodging facilities.
The first floor has a reception hall with a fireplace and wet bar. It also has tow
bathrooms and is connected to the garage/storage area where tables, chairs,
stage, tablecloths and other materials are stored. This area can also be used
for staging materials, decorations, etc. for use in weddings r other events. It
has extensive windows and the home is surrounded by large white pine trees
and 300 feet of shoreline on a marshy lake. The ceiling in the reception hall is
vaulted and allows for a spacious setting.
There are two bathrooms on the first floor; one is the golf bathroom (small, but
adequate) and the other is larger and has a shower as well. Both bathrooms
have automatic hand dryers.
The reception hall is 1425 square feet and has
handled weddings with up to 150 people,
receptions and dancing. There is also a large
game room (1000 square feet) in the lower floor
which can be used for more social gathering
and/or games and recreation. For larger groups,
often the younger people can dine and be
entertained on this floor. And the juke box can give them their won music
independent of the upstairs.
The area between the lake house and the marshy lake is the most often used
for weddings, receptions and parties. We have had as many as five tents set
up in the area, without disturbing the area by our metal gazebo which is the
primary setting for weddings. We can handle 275+ people in the flat area by
the gazebo. It is also possible to tent this area as well if one wants to be sure
to avoid raindrops.
The second floor loft houses the owner’s suite and is not available for guests.
